Oceania flags quiz: countries by first letter
For the Oceania flags quiz, it helps to know the shape of the list. The letter M starts the most country names (2 of 14), then N (2). The counts for every letter are:
| First letter | Flags |
|---|---|
| A | 1 |
| F | 1 |

| M | 2 |
| N | 2 |
| P | 2 |
| S | 2 |
| T | 2 |
| V | 1 |
Names with fewer letters are quicker to write on the printed sheet. Counting only letters, the shortest and longest names in the quiz are:

Oceania flag quiz: design features to look for
Every question in an Oceania flag quiz comes down to a few design clues: the colors, the number of stripes and the symbols. These are the clues that matter most in Oceania:
- Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tuvalu have a Union Jack in the corner, because they were British colonies. The Southern Cross also appears on the flags of Australia, New Zealand, Samoa and Papua New Guinea.
- Palau has a yellow disc on blue, and it looks like Japan’s flag with different colors.
- Kiribati has a golden frigatebird flying over the sea at sunrise, and Nauru has a 12-pointed white star.
- Tonga has a red cross on a white canton, and the rest of the flag is red.
- Vanuatu has a Y-shape and a boar’s tusk with leaves, and the Solomon Islands has five stars on a diagonal flag.
- The Marshall Islands has orange and white rays on blue, and Micronesia has four stars in a diamond on light blue.
