Wedding bingo is a game that guests play without leaving their seats: each square is a moment that tends to happen at a wedding, such as “a group selfie”, “someone steals the groom’s shoes” or “a speech runs too long”, and guests mark it when they see it. These free wedding bingo cards have 28 moments, you can print up to 200 different cards for an Indian wedding or any celebration, and you can also play online on phones.

Wedding moments bingo: what is on the cards
The starter list has 28 moments in four groups. Some are almost certain at an Indian wedding (the dhol, a group selfie), and some are rarer (a drone over the crowd), so a line is possible but takes a little watching.
| Group | Squares | Moments on the starter list |
|---|---|---|
| Dance floor and music | 10 | Uncle dances to Punjabi music, The DJ plays a 90s song, Dhol starts playing, Money is showered at the dance floor, Grandparents dance, Someone dances with a phone in hand, Everyone sings along to one song, Someone sings off-key, A surprise performance, The couple’s first dance |
| Photos and pageantry | 6 | Group selfie, Photographer asks everyone to squeeze in, A family photo with 20+ people, A drone camera flies over, Firecrackers or confetti, A guest wears the same outfit as another |
| The couple and the family | 7 | Someone cries happy tears, Someone steals the groom’s shoes, A speech runs too long, Someone asks “when is your wedding?”, The bride laughs out loud, The groom blushes, The couple feeds each other sweets |
| Little mishaps | 5 | A kid falls asleep on chairs, A saree pallu gets stepped on, Someone loses a shoe, Someone takes a plate of only desserts, Cold drinks run out |
How to play wedding bingo
- Give every guest a card, with a pen or a sticker, at the entrance or at the table.
- Guests watch the day unfold and mark a square when the moment happens.
- The first full line shows the host, and photos on a phone count as proof.
- The host checks the squares and gives a small prize.
- Play for the line first, then the four corners and the full card, so there are three winners.
How many moments before someone wins?
At a wedding the events decide the order of the squares. This simulation assumes that the moments that happen are drawn from the starter list of 28, and shows the chance that at least one guest has a completed line after a number of moments, with 10, 20 and 40 guests.
| Guests with a card | After 6 moments | After 8 | After 10 | After 12 | After 14 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 guests | 4% | 17% | 49% | 82% | 99% |
| 20 guests | 6% | 30% | 71% | 97% | 100% |
| 40 guests | 12% | 52% | 91% | 100% | 100% |
After 10 moments a line is likely with 20 or more guests, and after 12 moments it is almost certain. Weddings last many hours, so keep a few extra prizes for the four corners and the full card.
Wedding moments bingo: how the game works at a shaadi
Wedding moments bingo is a spectator game: the guests are the audience, and the wedding is the show. It keeps relatives who do not know each other busy and talking, because they compare cards and point out moments to each other. It also gives the quieter guests a reason to look around and enjoy the events.
Indian wedding bingo for a long day
Indian wedding bingo can run through the whole day: the mehendi in the morning, the haldi, the baraat, the pheras and the reception. Print a new card for each event, or use one card all day for a bigger game. For the individual events, see haldi bingo and sangeet dance bingo.
Shaadi bingo for the younger guests
Shaadi bingo is popular with teenagers and young adults, who love photos and funny moments. Give them the 5 by 5 card and ask them to take a photo for each square. The collection of photos makes a fun addition to the wedding album. For the traditions of an Indian wedding, see Wikipedia’s Hindu wedding article.
Wedding reception games for the dinner hour
Wedding reception games can fill the wait between the arrival and the dinner. Wedding bingo is quiet and easy, and a game of wedding tambola can follow. Keep the prize ceremony short, so that the couple’s photos can continue.
Wedding bingo cards with the couple’s names
You can print wedding bingo cards with the names of the couple and the date. Type them into the title and host boxes, and every card becomes a keepsake. Many couples put the best cards in an album.
