  2. Read your age in days, plus years, months and days, and weeks and hours.
  3. Check your milestones: the dates of your 1,000th, 5,000th, 10,000th and 20,000th days, and whether they have passed.
  4. Print the certificate to celebrate a milestone or a birthday.

The answer counts every real day since you were born, including February 29 in leap years. Your 1,000th day is your date of birth plus 1,000 days, and the calculator uses today’s date on your device.

Many people celebrate being 10,000 days old, which happens at about 27 years and 4 months. Someone born on January 1, 2000 is 10,000 days old on May 19, 2027. It is a fun excuse for a party in your late twenties, between the big birthdays. Other milestones worth marking:

Days old About Born January 1, 2000
1,000 2 years 8 months September 27, 2002
5,000 13 years 8 months September 9, 2013
10,000 27 years 4 months May 19, 2027
15,000 41 years January 25, 2041
20,000 54 years 9 months October 4, 2054
30,000 82 years 1 month February 19, 2082

Fun numbers like 12,345 days (about 33 years and 9 months) or 11,111 days make good surprise celebrations too. Enter any birth date to find your own dates, or add any number of days with the add days to date calculator.

How old am I in days at each age?

A year has 365 days, or 366 in a leap year, so your age in days is roughly your age in years times 365.25:

  • 1 year old: 365 or 366 days.
  • 5 years old: about 1,826 days.
  • 10 years old: about 3,652 days.
  • 18 years old: about 6,574 days.
  • 30 years old: about 10,958 days.
  • 50 years old: about 18,262 days.

The exact number depends on how many leap days have passed since your birthday, which is why the calculator counts real calendar days rather than multiplying.

Days old calculator for babies and children

Parents often count a baby’s age in days and weeks: 100 days old is a big celebration in Korean and Chinese tradition, and many families mark the first 1,000 days, a key period for a child’s growth and development. For school children, comparing how many days old they are with the 100th day of school is a great math activity: who is the oldest in days, how many days apart are two classmates, and how many days until each child’s next birthday? Print the milestone chart and let children fill in their own dates.

Leap years and leap-day birthdays

Every leap year adds a February 29, so two people the same age in years can differ by a day in their age in days. If you were born on February 29, you only have a real birthday every four years; in other years, the calculator treats March 1 as your birthday. Wikipedia’s February 29 article covers leap-day birthdays and traditions around the world.

Fun facts about your age in days

  • By your 10th birthday you have lived through about 3,652 sunrises.
  • Your heart beats roughly 100,000 times a day, so by 10,000 days old that is about a billion heartbeats.
  • One in every 1,461 days is a February 29, so leap years add about one extra day to your total every four years.
  • You were born on the same weekday as about one in seven people in your class.

Ideas for a 10,000-day party

  • Theme it with numbers: balloons shaped as 1, 0, 0, 0, 0, or a cake with 10,000 written in candles.
  • A day for each year: share one photo or memory from each of your 27 years.
  • Surprise a friend: work out their 10,000th day secretly with the calculator and plan a surprise.
  • Countdown: print a countdown calendar for the last 30 days before the milestone.
