Printable Bingo Cards

Printable bingo cards turn a party, a lesson or a team meeting into a game in a few minutes, and this page is the library for all of them. Every set below is free, prints from your browser as a PDF and gives each card its own random arrangement, so no player holds a copy of a neighbor’s card. Pick a template by occasion, change the words if you like, and print as many cards as your group needs, from a single sheet to 100 different cards.

In short: the library holds 105 sets of free printable bingo cards: 90 pages of their own and 15 more starter templates inside the card maker. Open the card maker with the button at the top of this page, choose a template, edit the squares and press Print for a PDF with a caller sheet and calling cards. Everything runs in your browser, nothing is uploaded and there is no sign-up.

Printable bingo cards: how to print a set in 4 steps

The card maker behind this page builds every set in the library, so the steps for printable bingo cards are the same whether you start from a template, from your own word list or from the classic 1-75 numbers. It takes about two minutes for a first set and less for the next one.

  1. Open the card maker. Use the button at the top of this page or go straight to the bingo card generator. On the Setup tab choose the card type: Custom (your own words, emoji and pictures on a 3×3 up to 7×7 grid), Bingo 75, Tambola 90, Bingo 80, Junior 30 or a Card deck.
  2. Pick a starting point. The Templates tab holds 30 starters, from baby shower and Christmas to meeting bingo and Diwali. Choosing one fills the Items tab for you; you can then retype, add or remove any square, and add an emoji or a picture to each word.
  3. Style the cards. On the Design tab pick a color theme, a font, the text size, the border and corner style, a card or page background, a logo, the title and a footer line. Names can go on every card for a class or a family.
  4. Print or save the PDF. On the Print tab choose how many different cards you need (1 to 100), how many to a page (1, 2, 4 or 6), Letter or A4, portrait or landscape, and whether to add cut guides, a caller sheet and calling cards to cut out. Then download the PDF or send it straight to the printer.

Each card is a different random arrangement of your list. A 5×5 card with a free space needs 24 words, and if your list is longer than the grid, different cards also hold different words. The Shuffle button deals a fresh set, Undo steps back, and the preview has a zoom so you can check the small print before it reaches the paper.

The Templates tab is also where every starter that has no page of its own lives. If a template is only listed in a table below, open the card maker from the bingo card generator page, switch to Templates and click its name.

Free printable bingo cards: what you get and what it costs

The free printable bingo cards on this site cost nothing: there is no account, no email wall and no limit on how many sets you make. The tools run entirely in your browser, so the words you type and the pictures you add are never uploaded to a server. That is useful for a classroom, where you may type student names on cards, and for a family party where the list holds private jokes.

A shareable link in the Print tab saves the words of a set so you can send it to a co-host; pictures are not part of the link. If you want people to play on their own phones instead of paper, the custom bingo online page deals every guest a self-marking card from your own list, and Play Bingo Online does the same for classic 75-ball numbers.

Bingo card templates: what is in the library

The numbers below are counted from the pages on this site, not estimated, and they cover every set of printable bingo cards listed on this page. Some topics appear twice on purpose: a bridal shower, for example, has its own party bingo page and a starter template in the card maker, and the two lists of squares are different.

Most pages offer the same two ways to play: print the cards, or play online on phones. The same printable bingo cards also work as a bingo cards PDF for a copy shop. All of the bingo templates can be changed before printing, which is the point of the library; treat each set as a starting list rather than a fixed worksheet.

Occasion bingo cards: showers, weddings, birthdays and holidays

Occasion bingo works, and these printable bingo cards sell the idea well, because the squares are things that really happen at the event. Guests watch for the gift, the toast or the dancing uncle, and the game runs itself while the party goes on around it. Pick the page for your event below; each one prints printable bingo cards, a caller list and the rules.

Showers, weddings and birthdays

  • Baby Shower Bingo has 30 baby items such as a rattle, a night light and a burp cloth, and guests mark each gift as it is unwrapped.
  • Bridal Shower Bingo is the gift-opening game for the bride’s party, with a first full line as the win.
  • Birthday Star Bingo uses squares about the birthday star and prints personalized cards, which works well for 40th, 50th and 60th parties.
  • Wedding Bingo has 28 moments from the day, from a group selfie to the groom’s shoes going missing.
  • Meet the Wedding Guests Bingo gets both families talking with find-a-guest squares such as who went to school with the bride.
  • Birthday Tambola is the number version for parties that prefer housie tickets with the guest of honor’s name on them.

Christmas, Halloween and other holiday bingo cards

Holiday printable bingo cards are the most reused templates in the library because the squares match what a room looks like in that season. The Christmas Bingo page prints picture cards with a tree, reindeer, hot cocoa and a candy cane, and the Christmas Tambola page does the same job with numbers. For a family evening, the New Year Tambola tickets bring a countdown prize.

For a family trip, the Road Trip Bingo cards have 30 things to spot from the back seat, and the car games for kids guide lists more games for the same journey. Halloween has its own page of cards, and the Halloween games for kids guide has ideas for the party itself.

Seasonal and family printable bingo cards each have a page with the full list of squares, the grid size and a preview:

  • Halloween Bingo has 30 spooky squares, from a bat and a black cat to a corn maze, for a party or a classroom.
  • Easter Bingo is built for an egg hunt, with a chick, a basket, jelly beans and a nest.
  • Thanksgiving Bingo covers the table and the parade: turkey, gravy, football and a nap on the couch.
  • Summer Bingo is a checklist for the school break, with a beach, a kite, lemonade and fireworks.
  • Camping Bingo sends campers looking for a tent, an owl, a shooting star and wet socks.

More occasion and audience pages use the same card maker, each with its own list of squares:

Starter bingo card templates for showers, weddings and New Year

These five templates live in the Templates tab of the card maker. Each has a 5×5 grid with a free space, so a card needs 24 of the words, and every list has more words than that so that cards differ. Open the bingo card generator, choose Templates and click the name.

Bingo cards for kids and the classroom

Printable bingo cards for kids work best when the squares are pictures: a child who cannot read yet can still match a card to a call. The picture bingo pages print 3×3, 4×4 or 5×5 cards with calling cards to cut out, and online each picture is read aloud. Older children can play the same game with words, sight words or vocabulary lists.

Classroom bingo templates: reading, letters and getting to know you

These printable bingo cards for the classroom start with the Classroom Bingo page, a back-to-school icebreaker with objects such as a pencil, a globe and a lunch box. The Sight Words Bingo page prints the common reading words (the, and, said, they) so early readers can find the word the caller reads; the guide to sight words explains why those words matter and the sight word worksheets give you take-home practice.

The Alphabet Bingo page has 26 letters on a 5×5 card, which means every card holds almost the full alphabet. For a first day, the Getting to Know You Bingo page sends students around the room to find a different classmate for each square.

Three more kids templates live in the Templates tab only:

Template Grid Squares on a card Words in the list Example squares Related page
Animal picture bingo 4×4 16 24 dog, panda, frog, turtle Animal Bingo page
Fruit and vegetable bingo 4×4 16 24 apple, mango, carrot, orange Fruit and Vegetable Bingo
Feelings bingo 4×4 16 24 happy, loved, lonely, amazed Feelings Bingo page

The three picture templates use a 4×4 grid with 16 squares and a list of 24 pictures, so each card holds two thirds of the list. That keeps a game short for children and makes sure that neighbors do not have the same card.

Bingo cards for adults, teams and meetings

Printable bingo cards for adults are usually social: the squares are things to find out about each other or things that are likely to happen in a meeting. Human bingo (also called find-someone-who) sends people around the room to find a different person for every square, which makes it a dependable icebreaker for a first day, a reunion or a team offsite.

Human bingo: printable bingo cards for adults to mingle

Meeting, Zoom and team bingo templates

Meeting Bingo and Zoom Bingo (virtual happy hour bingo) are templates for calls, with squares such as pet appears, frozen screen and the plant on the bookshelf. They are light-hearted rather than a way to mock colleagues, so keep the list to things everyone does. For a live game on a video call, host a game on play custom bingo online, or share the PDF and let everyone print their own card.

If your group is new to each other, pair a card with the icebreaker questions deck: bingo for the first ten minutes, questions for the rest. The Human Bingo page has squares such as has run a marathon or knows a magic trick, and the Getting to Know You Bingo page is the milder version for a new class or team.

Printable bingo cards with numbers: 1-75, 80-ball and junior 30

When you want the classic game with a caller and a pile of chips, use the number types in the card maker for printable bingo cards. Each card is a different random arrangement, the 1-75 columns keep their B-I-N-G-O ranges, and the PDF can include a caller sheet that lists every number.

Card type Grid Numbers Free space Good for
Bingo 75 5×5 1-75 in B-I-N-G-O columns (B 1-15, I 16-30, N 31-45, G 46-60, O 61-75) Center square Clubs, schools, fundraisers, the classic American game
Bingo 80 4×4 1-80 None UK-style games with short rounds
Junior 30 3×3 1-30 None Preschool and early math, number recognition
Tambola 90 3 rows x 9 columns 1-90, 15 per ticket None Housie, kitty parties, 90-ball bingo

To call the numbers, open the bingo caller for 75-ball games or the tambola number caller for 90-ball. Both call each number exactly once in a fresh random order, and the caller can check a winning card against the numbers called so far. Guests who want to play without paper can join a live game on Play Bingo Online.

How many 75-ball cards are there? Each of the B, I, G and O columns holds 5 of its 15 numbers, and the N column holds 4 of 15, which gives about 1.1 x 1017 different sets of numbers, or about 5.5 x 1026 if the order within columns counts. A set of 100 printed cards will not repeat.

Tambola and housie tickets

A tambola ticket has 3 rows and 9 columns with 15 numbers from 1 to 90, five in each row. Tambola, housie and 90-ball bingo are the same family of game, and the card maker prints all of them as printable bingo cards or tickets. Start with the tambola ticket generator for custom tickets, or the 90-ball bingo cards page for strips of six tickets in UK, Australian and Indian styles.

The rules, prizes and hosting tips are in the how to play tambola guide, and the housie number calls guide lists the rhyming call for each number from 1 to 90. To host a live game on phones, go to Online Tambola and Party Games.

Indian party bingo: Bollywood, kitty parties, festivals and sangeet

Indian party bingo uses the squares a room actually recognizes: film titles, dance-floor moments, items from a handbag. These printable bingo cards come out of the same card maker as the rest of the library and most can also be played on phones.

Hosts planning a full evening can add the kitty party games and Bollywood party games guides, or the Diwali party games guide for the festival season. The Hindi-language kitty party games in Hindi guide is there for a mixed audience.

Card decks that open in the same editor

Not every printable is a grid, so these are not printable bingo cards as such. The Card deck type in the card maker prints cut-out cards, one prompt per card, using the same design, font and paper settings as the bingo cards. These pages are the ready-made decks.

Blank bingo cards

If none of the templates fits, start from empty with printable bingo cards that have no words yet. The blank bingo cards page prints cards with empty squares for handwriting and also opens the editor so you can type the words first. It is the best choice for a vocabulary list, a class novel or a topic only your group knows. Two reference pages help with any set: the bingo card template page for choosing a layout, and the bingo number chart for keeping track of called numbers.

What size should printable bingo cards be?

The grid decides how many words you need and how long a game lasts, so choose the size of your printable bingo cards first. The game-length columns below come from a simulation of 1,500 games per row: random cards, a random call order, and the median call on which someone first completes a row, column or diagonal (a free space in the middle of odd grids). The word list in each row is the one used in the simulation.

Grid Squares Words needed Typical group Simulated list First line, 1 player 10 players 30 players
3×3 9 (8 + free space) 8 with free space, 9 without Preschool, ages 3 to 5 16 words 6 3 2
4×4 16 16 Ages 5 to 8, short rounds 24 words 13 9 7
5×5 25 (24 + free space) 24 with free space, 25 without Most parties, classes and clubs 30 words 17 11 9
6×6 36 36 Older kids and adults, longer game 48 words 30 22 19
7×7 49 (48 + free space) 48 with free space, 49 without Long games, big vocabulary lists 70 words 45 33 28

The numbers are calls, not minutes, so multiply by your pace: at one call every 15 seconds, a 5×5 game with 10 players and a 30-word list usually has its first line after about 11 calls, or 3 minutes. A full card (blackout) takes much longer, so plan the prize for first line, four corners and blackout in that order.

As a rule, 5×5 is the best default. Choose 3×3 or 4×4 when children are still learning to match pictures, and 6×6 or 7×7 when a group is happy to play for 20 minutes or more.

How many words do I need for printable bingo cards?

The minimum is one word per square, but a longer list is better. With exactly as many words as squares, every card holds the same words in a different order, so several players tend to finish on the same call. With a longer list each card holds a different selection, which spreads the wins out. The table counts how many different sets of 24 words you can pick from a list of N words for a 5×5 card with a free space, C(N,24).

Words in your list (N) Different sets of 24 words, C(N,24) What it means
24 1 Every card has all 24 words; only the arrangement differs
25 25 Each card skips 1 word
26 325 Each card skips 2 words
28 20,475 Fine for a small class
30 593,775 A good default for parties
32 10,518,300 Good for 30 players
36 1,251,677,700 Cards clearly differ
40 62,852,101,650 Large groups
50 121,548,660,036,300 Very large groups and long games

Order matters too: 24 words can be arranged on a card in 24! = 620,448,401,733,239,439,360,000 ways, so even a 24-word list will not give two players the same card. What changes is how often two cards complete a line on the same call. In the simulation below, 30 players share a 5×5 game and we count games in which more than one card wins on the very first winning call.

Words in the list Games with a tie, 10 players Games with a tie, 30 players Median first-line call, 30 players
24 22% 27% 8
26 21% 26% 8
30 18% 23% 9
36 14% 20% 11
48 11% 14% 14

For a class of 30 using one list, 36 words cuts the chance of a tie from 27% to 20%, and 48 words to about 14%. The same logic applies to a 4×4 card, which needs 16 words, and to the picture bingo pages, where the lists have 22 to 27 pictures.

How to run a game with printable bingo cards

  1. Hand out one card per player along with chips, dry-erase markers or small pieces of paper. For children, laminate the cards or slide them into plastic sleeves and use counters.
  2. Choose the winning pattern before you start: any line, four corners, an X or a full card. The bingo caller has a pattern picker with mini diagrams for the 75-ball patterns.
  3. Call from the caller sheet or the calling cards you cut out, or let the caller tool do it with a big ball on screen, and keep a list of everything called.
  4. When someone shouts bingo, read their squares back against your list. The caller has a check-a-card box where you type the numbers on a card to see whether all of them were called.

For words and pictures, read the word aloud and show the calling card; for numbers, say the letter as well as the number. Shout-out rules are the host’s choice: some groups play for a single prize, others play three rounds.

Bingo cards PDF or print from the browser?

Both routes produce the same pages from your printable bingo cards. A bingo cards PDF is a file you keep: it is the right choice when you want to email the set to a school office, print at a copy shop or reprint the same cards next year. Printing straight from the browser is faster when you are at home and the printer is right there.

Download the PDF Print from the browser
Best for Copy shops, school offices, saving a set to reuse Quick prints at home
Page size Letter or A4, chosen in the Print tab before you download Same choice, then confirm it in the print dialog
Scaling Fixed by the file, so every printer gives the same layout Set Scale to 100% or Actual size; fit-to-page can shrink cards
Cards per page 1, 2, 4 or 6, cut guides optional Same options
Reprint later Open the saved file again Rebuild the set or use the shareable link

If the cards are cut off at the edge, you almost always have scaling on instead of Actual size, or the paper size in the print dialog differs from the one chosen in the card maker. Print one test page before you run off thirty.

Paper and printing tips for printable bingo cards

  • Paper weight: standard 20 lb copy paper is fine for one night; for cards you will reuse, print on 65 lb cardstock or laminate.
  • Ink: light color themes and the black-and-white theme use much less ink than solid-color tiles. Turn on the alternate tint rather than a full background if you are printing 30 or more.
  • Cutting: with 2, 4 or 6 cards per page, turn on cut guides and cut the sheet with a paper trimmer.
  • Letter or A4: choose the paper you actually own; US schools use Letter, and most of the rest of the world uses A4.
  • Landscape: tambola tickets and wide cards fit better in landscape, so switch the orientation in the Print tab.
  • Spare cards: print about 10% more than you have players so latecomers and mistakes are covered.
  • Markers: chips, dry-erase markers, crayons and stickers all work; avoid permanent markers on shared cards.

For other worksheets on matching paper, see the printable paper pages. Background on the game itself is in the Wikipedia article on bingo, which also explains how the 75-ball and 90-ball versions differ.

Bingo and tambola guides

The guides answer the questions people ask before and after they print: how the game works, which patterns to play, what to call and how to build your own cards.

Frequently asked questions

10 quick answers

Where can I get free printable bingo cards?

Free printable bingo cards are on every page in the library above, and in the card maker itself. Choose a template, edit the squares if you wish and download a PDF. There is no account to create and no payment.

How do I make a bingo cards PDF?

Open the card maker, pick a template or type your own words, then go to the Print tab of the printable bingo cards, choose the number of cards, the paper size and the layout, and press the PDF button. The file includes the caller sheet and calling cards if you switched them on.

Are these bingo templates really free?

Yes. The bingo templates and the card maker are free to use, with no sign-up, and every one of the printable bingo cards is yours to print. The cards run in your browser, so the words you type are not uploaded.

Can I edit the bingo card templates?

Yes, every one of them. A template is only a starting list for your printable bingo cards: change any word, add an emoji or a picture, pick new colors and fonts, and print.

What are the best bingo cards for kids?

For children who cannot read yet, use printable bingo cards for kids with pictures and a 3×3 or 4×4 grid, such as animals, farm or food. For readers, use the sight words or alphabet template, or type a spelling list into a blank card.

What are good bingo cards for adults?

The best printable bingo cards for adults are human bingo and find-someone-who cards as icebreakers, wedding and shower bingo suit events, and meeting or Zoom bingo suit teams. For an evening of housie, use tambola tickets.

How many printable bingo cards can I print at once?

Up to 100 different cards in one set, 1, 2, 4 or 6 to a page. For tambola, the ticket generator prints up to 600 tickets, so a large kitty party or fundraiser is covered.

How many words do I need for a 5×5 bingo card?

For printable bingo cards on a 5×5 grid you need at least 24 words with a free space in the center, or 25 without one. A list of 30 to 36 words gives each card a different selection and makes ties less likely.

Can I play with my own words online instead of printing?

Yes. The custom bingo online page lets you host a game from your own list, and guests join with a link and play on their own phones with cards that mark themselves.

Does the card maker work for tambola and housie?

Yes, it prints tambola as printable bingo cards too. Choose Tambola 90 for classic numbered tickets or the illustrated theme tickets; the caller for 90 numbers is on its own page and calls each number once.
