What is on each Christmas coloring page
Every page shows one big, cheerful picture with large spaces to fill. Here is what you get and which age each page suits.

| 2 | Santa Claus waving in the snow with a sack of toys, with pine trees behind him | 6 to 9 | Red suit with white trim, a black belt and a brown sack. |
| 3 | A happy snowman with a top hat, a striped scarf, a carrot nose and snowflakes | 4 to 7 | Leave the snowman white and colour the sky blue so he stands out. |
| 4 | A cute reindeer with antlers, a bell collar and a bow, standing in the snow | 5 to 8 | Brown body, a lighter brown face and a gold bell. |
| 5 | A gingerbread house with icing on the roof, candy canes, sweets and a gingerbread man | 6 to 9 | Light brown walls, white icing and bright colours for every sweet. |
| 6 | A Christmas stocking hanging next to a wreath with a bow, holly leaves and two bells | 4 to 7 | Red stocking with patterns, a green wreath and a red bow. |
| 7 | A polar bear cub in a Santa hat and scarf hugging a gift box, standing in the snow | 4 to 7 | Leave the bear white with a pale blue shadow, and make the gift red or green. |
| 8 | A penguin in a Santa hat and a striped scarf holding a wrapped present | 4 to 7 | Black back and wings, a white tummy, an orange beak and feet, and a red hat. |
| 9 | A smiling mug of hot cocoa with marshmallows, a candy cane and steam swirls | 4 to 8 | Brown cocoa, white or pink marshmallows and a red and white striped candy cane. |
| 10 | A gingerbread man and a gingerbread girl waving, with icing buttons and a candy cane | 4 to 8 | Light brown cookies, white icing, and red and green buttons and bows. |
| 11 | A sleepy kitten curled up inside a Christmas stocking with a holly leaf | 4 to 7 | Color the kitten like a real cat, and the stocking red with a white cuff. |
| 12 | A pine branch with five baubles decorated with stars, stripes, dots and snowflakes | 6 to 10 | Give each bauble its own colors and fill the patterns with a second color. |
Younger children can start with the snowman or the stocking and wreath, which have the biggest shapes. The penguin, the polar bear cub and the kitten in a stocking are just as easy. Older children will enjoy the Christmas ornaments page and the gingerbread house, which has lots of small sweets and patterns to colour.
Easy Christmas drawing ideas, step by step
A Christmas drawing for a card, a school competition or the fridge door starts with simple shapes. Sketch lightly in pencil, go over the lines you want to keep with a black marker, then add color.
Christmas tree drawing, step by step
- Draw a star at the top of the page: two overlapping triangles, or five points joined in one line.
- Under the star, draw three wavy triangles stacked on top of each other, each one wider than the one above. This makes the branches.
- Draw a small rectangle under the bottom layer for the trunk, and a few boxes with bows beside it for presents.
- Draw a curved line across each layer for a garland, and add circles along it for baubles.
- Colour the tree green, the star yellow and the baubles red, blue and gold, leaving a small white dot on each bauble so it shines.
How to draw a snowman
- Draw a big circle near the bottom of the page and a smaller circle on top of it for the head.
- Add a top hat: a flat rectangle for the brim and a taller rectangle on top.
- Draw two dots for eyes, a curved row of dots for a smile and a long triangle for a carrot nose.
- Wrap a scarf around the neck with two hanging ends, and draw stick arms with small twigs at the ends.
- Add three round buttons down the body and a few snowflakes around it.
| Christmas drawing idea | Level | Start with |
|---|---|---|
| Snowman | Easy (ages 4 and up) | Two circles, a hat and a triangle nose |
| Christmas stocking | Easy | An L shape with a rounded toe and a band at the top |
| Christmas tree | Easy | A star and three wavy triangles |
| Wreath with a bow | Medium (ages 6 and up) | Two circles, holly leaves, a bow |
| Reindeer | Medium | An oval body, a round head, branching antlers |
| Santa Claus | Harder (ages 8 and up) | A round face, a beard, a hat and a sack |
Coloring tips for your Christmas drawing
- Classic Christmas colours. Red, green, gold and white are the traditional colours. Use red for Santa’s suit and the stocking, green for the tree and holly, and gold or yellow for the star and bells.
- Make the snow glow. Leave the snow white and colour the sky light blue or deep blue so it stands out.
- Gingerbread. Light brown for the walls, white for the icing and bright colours for the sweets.
- Add sparkle. A little glitter glue on the star, the baubles and the bells makes the page look festive. Let it dry flat.
- Patterns. Stripes, dots and zigzags make the presents and the stocking more fun.
Turn the Christmas coloring pages into an activity
- Make a card. Colour the tree or snowman, cut it out and glue it on folded card. Write a message inside for family or a teacher.
- Make ornaments. Colour the reindeer or the stocking, glue it on thin card, cut it out, punch a hole at the top and hang it on the tree with ribbon.
- Countdown colouring. Colour one page a week in December. Our Christmas countdown calendar helps children count the days.
- Christmas party. Add Christmas bingo or our Christmas trivia for a classroom or family party.
Printing Christmas coloring pages for a class
For a class of 25, print the all-in-one PDF once and photocopy the pages you need, or print each page on its own with the Letter button (US and Canada) or A4 (UK, Ireland, Australia and most other countries). Plain 20 lb copy paper is fine for crayons; use 24 lb or card stock for markers, paint or glitter glue.
- Quiet time: hand out the snowman and the stocking to the youngest children, who need big shapes.
- Art lesson: pair the Christmas tree drawing steps above with page 1 so children draw their own tree, then color the printed one.
- Last day before break: let each child pick a page and turn it into a card for home.
An easy Christmas drawing lesson works well as a warm-up: draw the snowman together on the board, one circle at a time, before children start on their coloring pages.
A note for teachers and parents
Christmas is celebrated on 25 December by Christians as the birth of Jesus, and many families around the world also enjoy its winter traditions: decorated trees, Santa Claus, snowmen and gifts. These pages show those popular customs and have no religious text, so they suit mixed classrooms. Christmas Day 2026 is on Friday 25 December, so print the pages in late November or early December.
Keep a stack of the Christmas coloring pages ready for the holidays: they make a quiet activity for the busy days before Christmas.
